Rambod had been working for Engineering Geology Limited (EGL) for 20 years and became a Director of the company in 2014. Rambod obtained his BSc (Engineering Geology) from Azad University (Iran) and MEngST (Civil Engineering) from the University of Auckland. Rambod was a Chartered Member of Engineering New Zealand and Engineers Australia (CPEng) and a Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ).

He had over 25 years of professional experience in geotechnical investigation, design and construction of foundations, retaining walls, ground stabilisation, slope and embankment design and earthworks for domestic, commercial and industrial developments.

Rambod specialised in design and construction monitoring, certification of water storage embankment dams, tailings, storage facilities as well as dam safety engineering. He had acted as Engineer to the contract for several dam projects. Rambod also provided expert evidence in sensitive projects and has published several technical papers in the field of dam engineering. His experience was here in New Zealand and several other overseas countries, including Australia, Mongolia, Iran and Turkey.

I have been working for Engineering Geology Ltd, EGL, for 20 years. When I left EGL in 2008 to move to Australia, it was still a small, mainly male employees traditional engineering firm. However, EGL has gone through a revival since 2013 when we returned to NZ and rejoining the firm. Not only we have grown since then but today we celebrate the diversity we have in our company.

The team has grown to 18 and with the recent employment of our South African engineering geologist, we have representatives from 5 continents. More importantly, we now have talented female employees at every department, including engineering, geology, design, admin, and accounts.

At our workplace, we are like a family with great team culture and the staff have mutual respect. The gift and talent of every team member are identified, utilized and the staff is rewarded for their talent and contributions. This is, to my view, genuine and true inclusiveness so people won't be rewarded for what they are but who they are regardless of their race, sex, age, etc as we are all the children of God and He loves us not for what we are but who we are.
